Delta Plastics is pleased to announce that Dr. Lawrence Reaveley and Dr. Pedro Romero from the Engineering Department of the University of Utah have finished the requested testing of the Bisfoam-3 A&B epoxy foam. The results are that the Bisfoam-3 A&B will meet the requirements of FEMA 356. The increased calculated h/t ratios will allow walls which were determined unacceptable under FEMA 356 to be in compliance when repaired with the Bisfoam-3 A&B. Do the math.
The following comparisons and recommendations are made from the report issued by the University of Utah on the Bisfoam-3 A&B:
In order to fully determine the potential benefits of using Bisfoam-3 as a material to retrofit non-reinforced brick masonry structures it is recommended that the following be investigated:
A point from the manufacturer: The original goal when first undertaking testing was to increase life survivability under seismic events. This product has surpassed the most optimistic hope for this application of masonry stabilization. I have seen no other method which is better.
The research projects involving our BISFOAM-3 A&B are ongoing. Look for links to new data as it becomes available.
